Senior QA Automation Engineer

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work after mutual agreement

Salary: €2,700 gross per month minimum; final compensation is negotiable based on seniority, experience, skills, qualifications, and expertise.

What you will do

• Design and execute integration tests for APIs, message contracts, transformations, routing, error handling, and end-to-end flows.
• Develop reusable Java automation components and build regression tests for the TIBCO-to-Apache Camel migration.
• Implement comparative testing between legacy TIBCO and new Camel implementations, including synchronous and asynchronous Kafka and JMS scenarios.
• Analyze logs, trace transactions with Kibana/Elasticsearch and correlation IDs, and validate data consistency using SQL.
• Create mocks, stubs, and test data; integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Define testing standards, troubleshoot failures, collaborate with developers and architects, and document solutions for long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in backend/integration testing or system integration.
• Strong knowledge of API and integration testing, including REST, SOAP, synchronous/asynchronous communication, error handling, retries, timeouts, and complex integration flows.
• Hands-on Java test automation experience, preferably with RestAssured, Serenity BDD, or similar frameworks.
• Good understanding of JSON, XML, schemas, and API contracts; ability to validate data independently at database level using SQL.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Jenkins, and logging or monitoring tools such as Kibana or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI, JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to analyze integration services, design test coverage, troubleshoot distributed systems, and collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, and testers.
• Native Slovak or Czech speaker and English proficiency at B1 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Camel, TIBCO BusinessWorks, TIBCO EMS, or other ESB/integration platforms.
• Knowledge of Kafka, JMS, Enterprise Integration Patterns, and message-driven architectures.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, service virtualization, performance or load testing, and tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Telecommunications experience, particularly BSS/OSS and integration processes.
• Experience with enterprise integration platform migration or modernization, BPMN, Camunda, and AI-assisted development or test automation tools.
