Data Scientist Jr Demand Planning (Sports/Fashion)

Location: Annecy, France; hybrid work, with remote work possible after the first month. The internship lasts 6 months and starts in January or February 2027. Applicants from outside the EU must hold a valid residence permit or visa authorising a school-sanctioned internship in France at the start date.

Internship allowance: €700 gross for high school diploma to bachelor's degree, €950 gross for a master's degree, or €1,200 gross for a doctorate. Housing assistance: €300 upon presentation of an eligible lease agreement and monthly receipts.

hirify.global is a mountain sports brand within Amer Sports, producing footwear, apparel and equipment for outdoor and winter sports.

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards for sales, stock, margin and performance monitoring.
• Replace or simplify Excel-based tools with Python, SQL and BI solutions, including automated data extraction, transformation and consolidation.
• Automate weekly and monthly reports and PowerPoint presentations for internal reviews and management meetings.
• Support forecasting and demand planning through sales forecasts, inventory projections, scenario simulations and forecast-versus-actual analysis.
• Analyze large B2B and B2C datasets to identify trends, anomalies and performance drivers, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
• Develop standardized datasets, data models, forecasting or machine learning models, and scalable analytics workflows.

Requirements

• Student in Data Science, Engineering or Applied Mathematics, such as ESILV or an equivalent program.
• Strong analytical mindset with a clear interest in business and retail, fashion or sports environments.
• Comfort working with data and imperfect systems; curious, proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Fluent English at C1 level.
• Strong Python knowledge, including pandas, numpy, matplotlib or seaborn.
• Advanced Excel skills at power-user level.
• Basic SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools is a strong plus.
• Interest in automation, optimization and forecasting techniques; PowerPoint automation or reporting experience is a plus.
• A tripartite training agreement, or convention de stage, between the applicant, school and company is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Basic SQL knowledge.

• Interest or experience in time series, regression, clustering and other forecasting or machine learning techniques.
