Java Backend Developer

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST and SOAP APIs for communication between internal and external systems.
• Implement event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka for asynchronous service communication.
• Work with SQL databases, including database design, query optimization, and data persistence.
• Build automated integration tests with TestContainers and troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for reliability, performance, stability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and business analysts; participate in code reviews and technical discussions; and contribute to deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement in containerized environments.

Requirements

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications with Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing and integrating REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience implementing event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with SQL databases, including database design, query optimization, and data persistence.
• Experience developing automated integration tests with TestContainers.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend applications for performance, stability, and scalability.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and business analysts and contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.
• Experience contributing to application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in containerized environments.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes for container orchestration and application deployment.
• Experience in banking or financial services, particularly banking system integrations.
• Understanding of transaction processing, data consistency, and secure communication between financial systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud-native application development.
