Senior Data Scientist (GenAI)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with 3 days per week at the office

What you will do

• Own data science projects end to end, from data exploration and problem formulation through modeling, evaluation, and handoff to the MLOps team for production deployment.
• Engage with business stakeholders, translate requirements into data science problems, and communicate results clearly.
• Develop clean, reusable, production-quality Python code using object-oriented programming principles.
• Process large-scale Data Lake data and develop models with PySpark and Databricks.
• Define and monitor model performance metrics, build dashboards, and manage continuous model maintenance and improvement.
• Contribute to GenAI initiatives alongside traditional data science projects.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end data science projects from data exploration through solution deployment.
• Strong Python skills, including object-oriented programming and reusable, production-quality functions.
• Experience with PySpark and big data processing environments.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Strong foundation in exploratory data analysis and applied statistical methods.
• Experience defining model monitoring strategies and building performance dashboards.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership from requirements gathering through final delivery.
• Strong communication skills and experience engaging directly with business areas.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks and MLflow.
• Exposure to GenAI projects, including partial experience.
