Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, New York, United States; hybrid office model with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines, integrations and reusable models using SQL, Python, dbt and Snowflake.
• Develop semantic models and views with clear metrics, entity relationships, business rules and verified queries.
• Build AI agents, copilots and automated workflows combining structured data, documents and business tools for client intelligence, call preparation, customer support and sales productivity.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, RevOps and Customer Success to turn ambiguous business needs into practical data and automation solutions.
• Implement data tests, monitoring, agent evaluations, version control, deployment practices, access controls and human review.
• Measure adoption, output quality, time savings, performance and cost, while supporting ongoing improvement and AI enablement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or a closely related role, including ownership of production data pipelines and models.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with cloud data warehouses and understanding of dimensional modeling, ELT, API integrations and data quality.
• Practical experience with an AI agent, LLM application or automated workflow using real data, including explaining evaluation methods, failures and lessons learned.
• Experience using AI tools in development and recognizing when generated output requires correction.
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt is preferred.
• Strong business judgment, ability to learn unfamiliar processes quickly and ability to explain technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Experience helping others adopt tools or practices through mentoring, training, documentation or direct support.
• Ownership from discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement, with open collaboration and attention to actual user adoption.

Nice to have

• Experience with semantic layers or conversational analytics.
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex or similar agent tooling.
• Experience with GTM systems such as Salesforce, Gong or Zendesk.
• Experience in B2B SaaS or fintech.
