Senior Full-Stack Python Engineer (Django/React)

Location: Remote within Brazil

What you will do

• Build end-to-end web applications with Django, Django REST Framework, React, and TypeScript.
• Design and document versioned REST APIs for internal and external systems.
• Implement calculation-heavy insurance rating and renewal rules with comprehensive automated tests.
• Integrate third-party APIs and enterprise data platforms while handling rate limits, retries, and audit trails.
• Contribute to shared architecture decisions across parallel projects.
• Work directly with client IT and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate results.

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack or backend development experience, including production experience with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Production experience with React and TypeScript.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or a related technical field.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and migrations.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, including asynchronous processing with Celery and Redis.
• Strong testing practices with unit tests using pytest and end-to-end tests using Playwright or a similar tool.
• Experience deploying containerized applications to a cloud environment; Azure is preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Copilot, including writing clear specifications and reviewing generated code critically.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, insurance, benefits administration, or HIPAA-regulated data experience.
• Azure services experience, including Container Apps, Key Vault, or Entra ID, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience converting spreadsheet-based business models into code.
• Experience with versioned or effective-dated data.
• Experience generating PDF documents from application data.
• Consulting or client-facing experience.
