Senior II Software Development Engineer in Test (Networking)

What you will do

• Define test strategies, design detailed test plans, and develop reliable automation frameworks for next-generation routing services.
• Design, develop, and execute functional tests for BGP, FRRouting, GoBGP, EVPN, route reflection, and IP routing and switching technologies.
• Build and maintain scalable Python and Pytest test frameworks and integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct performance, stress, and scalability testing with Spirent TestCenter or comparable traffic-generation tools.
• Analyze routing convergence, identify protocol bugs and root causes, and resolve complex networking failures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor junior engineers on testing practices and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Expertise in network validation, QA automation, or systems testing, supported by practical knowledge of computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in L2/L3 networking, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, and configuring, debugging, and testing routing stacks such as FRR.
• Expertise in BGP protocols, attributes, state machines, and scaling techniques.
• Advanced Python proficiency for automation with Pytest and related libraries.
• Experience with high-scale traffic-generation tools such as Spirent, Keysight/Ixia, Cisco TRex, or Xena Networks.
• Experience using Docker to containerize routing daemons, manage multi-container network topologies, and create virtualized network test environments.
