Research Engineer (AI/ML)

hirify.global is an applied AI lab building a large-scale search engine with web crawling infrastructure, embedding models, and high-performance vector databases.

What you will do

• Improve parsing across web pages and demonstrate measurable quality improvements.
• Build models that assess page quality, credibility, misinformation, source reliability, and reader-oriented content.
• Determine whether documents are semantically identical or meaningfully different for web deduplication.
• Develop classification and extraction systems that are accurate and cost-efficient at web scale.
• Design supervision for problems without existing labels and evaluate whether they are learnable.
• Trace poor search results to the page-level predictions that caused them and improve the underlying systems.

Requirements

• Graduate-level machine learning experience through a Master’s or PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an exceptionally strong undergraduate background.
• Ability to build a transformer from scratch in PyTorch.
• Experience training models that are inexpensive enough to run broadly.
• Interest in building large-scale datasets and working deeply with data, including supervision design.
• Comfort working on problems where the ground truth does not yet exist and defining it is part of the role.
• Strong interest in finding high-quality knowledge and understanding its importance.
