Linux Systems Engineer (Ansible)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, validate, and evolve Linux-based solutions for Air Force Intelligence Operations.
• Support global, multi-infrastructure systems used for real-time mission operations.
• Administer Linux-based systems and workstations, including RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 environments.
• Perform Linux troubleshooting, security hardening, patching, implementation, and system updates.
• Build and modify Ansible playbooks and expand automation, virtualization, and cloud capabilities.
• Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Experience updating, testing, and validating system changes.
• Experience with Linux system security hardening and patching.
• Experience administering RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 systems and Linux-based workstations, including system administration interdependencies.
• Knowledge of GitLab, Ansible, RHEL Subscription Manager, and PKI infrastructure; experience building and modifying Ansible playbooks.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or engineering plus 10+ years of Linux systems and workstation administration experience, or a high school diploma/GED plus 12+ years of such experience.
• DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II or III certification, such as Security+.

Nice to have

• Experience creating Linux-based solutions for customer requirements.
• Experience with health and status monitoring software, including Nagios.
• Experience supporting U.S. Government customers, preferably in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
• Experience with Linux scripting languages.
• Knowledge of network concepts and switch/firewall configurations.
• Master’s degree or Red Hat Linux certification.
