Senior Cloud Systems Administrator (Azure)

What you will do

• Gather and document CAE application requirements, including binaries, infrastructure, dependencies, users, licensing, authentication, and installation sequencing.
• Coordinate installation, configuration, testing, user validation, and operational transition for CAE applications in Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Identify and support required license servers, databases, integrations, HPC resources, and specialized virtual machine configurations.
• Participate in application and solution architecture reviews and plan integrations across CAE tools, 3DEXPERIENCE, requirements-management platforms, and data-transfer capabilities.
• Document current- and target-state architectures, dependencies, and operational ownership.
• Manage Azure Government and Microsoft license inventories, consumption monitoring, charge reconciliation, recurring cost reports, billing extracts, variance investigations, and forecasts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least seven years of experience installing and supporting CAE tools, such as MATLAB, Simulink, ANSA, LS-DYNA, or LS-PREPOST.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and operations, including virtual machines, storage, identity, monitoring, backup, and cost management.
• Experience supporting Windows-based virtual desktop applications such as Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365, or comparable hosted desktop environments.
• Understanding of floating or concurrent software licensing models and license server technologies.
• Experience managing application licenses, SKUs, capacity, renewals, and usage reporting.
• Ability to interpret vendor infrastructure and application requirements and translate them into implementable technical designs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Azure Government, GCC High, or other regulated government cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365.
• Experience with cloud financial management, consumption reporting, chargeback, or cost allocation.
• Familiarity with security assessments, application onboarding, architecture reviews, and change-management processes.
• Experience supporting U.S. government or defense-related technology environments.
• Systems integration experience involving interfaces, authentication and authorization, data flows, and application dependencies.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
