Data Solutions Manager (Databricks)

Location: Hybrid in Buffalo, NY; the role can be based in the US, UK, or Europe. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Base pay: USD 130,000–185,000 per year in Buffalo, NY, or an equivalent benchmark in Europe/UK.

What you will do

• Lead the Industrial Group data solutions team and set direction for data architecture, engineering, and solution delivery.
• Develop the target-state architecture across ingestion, bronze/silver/gold lakehouse modeling, semantic layers, and BI enablement.
• Own the data solutions roadmap, current warehouse reliability, platform performance, incident response, change deployment, and business continuity.
• Lead migration to hirify.global’s corporate Databricks environment and manage data cleansing, mapping, transformation, and reconciliation across SAP ECC and legacy ERP systems.
• Establish standards for data quality, freshness, lineage, CI/CD, documentation, governance, and reusable engineering frameworks.
• Hire, coach, and develop data engineers while advising business, finance, technology, governance, and senior leadership stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least seven years of experience in data roles, including at least five years leading technical data teams in data engineering, warehousing, or platform delivery; experience must include hiring, coaching, performance management, and vendor oversight.
• Experience defining data architecture, strategy, and engineering principles from both hands-on and leadership perspectives.
• Strong enterprise data warehousing experience, including dimensional and semantic modeling, ETL, SQL performance tuning, and warehouse platforms such as SAP BW, Progress, Snowflake, Synapse, or similar.
• Hands-on Databricks delivery experience, including Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows, Genie spaces, and Unity Catalog controls.
• Strong command of SQL, Spark, Python, and modern ELT/orchestration tools, with an automation-first and reusable-framework mindset.
• Familiarity with data contracts, producer-consumer accountability, schema evolution, data quality requirements, and platform governance controls.
• Experience managing data migrations involving extraction, cleansing, mapping, loading, and reconciliation, preferably with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across technology, business process, finance, and program teams, including senior leadership; ability to work with global, remote, and diverse teams.
