SQM Infrastructure Product Development AI Engineer

Salary: $80,800–$133,400 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy enterprise Generative AI and agentic AI applications using LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
• Build stateful multi-step workflows with reasoning, tool integration, retrieval, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Develop RAG solutions with PostgreSQL and pgvector, and integrate applications with Azure OpenAI and other LLM services.
• Build scalable Python/FastAPI backend services and REST APIs, including evaluation, tracing, monitoring, and observability mechanisms.
• Containerize and deploy AI services to Azure Kubernetes Service and implement production-ready security, logging, retries, configuration, and reliability practices.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, engineering, cloud, database, operations, QA, and DevOps teams through design, development, deployment, troubleshooting, and production stabilization.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models, Azure OpenAI, RAG, prompt engineering, agentic AI, and LLM evaluation and observability.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
• Strong Python, FastAPI, REST API, asynchronous/API development, and microservices architecture skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, pgvector, vector embeddings, semantic/vector search, and RAG retrieval and indexing patterns.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service, containers/Docker, cloud-native development, CI/CD, and production deployment practices.
• Product development experience taking AI capabilities beyond proof-of-concept into production, including translating business requirements, designing reusable architectures and APIs, and balancing quality, latency, cost, security, and scalability.
• Experience establishing AI quality measures, troubleshooting production LLM/RAG applications, collaborating across technical and business teams, and owning features through design, development, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Enterprise GenAI/RAG product development and LangGraph-based agentic workflow experience.
• LangSmith tracing and evaluation experience, Python/FastAPI deployment on AKS, and PostgreSQL/pgvector at production scale.
• Knowledge of hallucination, grounding, context management, guardrails, evaluation, Azure identity, secrets management, monitoring, and enterprise security patterns.
• Experience building internal developer, infrastructure, automation, operations, or knowledge-management AI products.
