TL;DR
RTR Accountant (Record-to-Report) (Accounting/Financial Reporting): Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, SAP general ledger maintenance, and group financial reporting with an accent on US GAAP, tax accounting, treasury activities, and SOX controls. Focus on investigating variances, maintaining accurate financial records, improving accounting processes, and supporting reporting across an international business.

Location: Cork, Ireland; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and financial adjustments.
  • Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain accurate SAP general ledger records.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and prepare financial information for group consolidation and reporting.
  • Support income tax accruals, treasury-related accounting, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local accounting requirements, SOX controls, and company policies.
  • Resolve accounting issues with Finance and business stakeholders while contributing to process standardization, automation, documentation, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or Record-to-Report activities.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
  • Knowledge of month-end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, ability to meet deadlines, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CFA, CIMA, or equivalent, or active progress toward one.
  • Experience in a multinational company or shared services environment.
  • Exposure to US GAAP accounting and income tax accounting under ASC 740.
