Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, United Arab Emirates

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy full-stack AI-powered web applications using microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Integrate Generative AI, Azure OpenAI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic workflows into enterprise platforms.
• Create modular, scalable architectures, documentation standards, and reusable templates for AI projects.
• Build data pipelines, preprocessing workflows, and governance frameworks for large and complex datasets.
• Manage Docker containerization and CI/CD pipelines for automated, secure, and scalable deployments.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions while collaborating with UI/UX teams, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proficiency with back-end frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js and front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Strong knowledge of GenAI engineering, LLM integration with Azure OpenAI, and RAG workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS, including Azure Functions or AWS Lambda and cloud storage such as S3 or Blobs.
• Advanced coding skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Expert-level knowledge of Docker, container registries such as ACR, and CI/CD automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another quantitative related field.
• At least 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building scalable, secure web applications and integrating AI models in a cloud-native environment; Azure is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, terminology, and financial services products.
