Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Zagreb, Croatia; hybrid

hirify.global is consolidating an acquired product’s infrastructure onto its own platform while building scalable, maintainable systems in small, high-trust engineering teams.

What you will do

• Own the SRE team’s intake by triaging requests and interruptions, resolving quick issues, and turning remaining work into planned delivery.
• Operate the acquired product’s infrastructure day to day during the migration.
• Migrate infrastructure onto hirify.global’s platform and automate repeatable migration steps.
• Turn recurring requests into self-service tooling, automation, or documentation.
• Operate and improve Kubernetes across cloud providers using Terraform and CRDs.
• Maintain and extend Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog observability coverage and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Fully proficient written and spoken English; the working language is English.
• Clear asynchronous communication, including setting expectations about deferred work.
• Ability to manage frequent context switching, stay organised, and work effectively with changing priorities, goals, and deadlines.
• Comfort working in unfamiliar systems and figuring out how they work.
• An automation mindset focused on streamlining daily operations.
• Experience managing infrastructure as code; infrastructure must be stored in git.
• Programming skills in at least one language, or willingness to learn additional languages.
• Strong preference for simple solutions, collaborative problem-solving, data-driven decisions, ownership, and constructive challenge of the status quo.
