Mobile Applications Developer (iOS/Android)

Location: Onsite at 1 Mount Pleasant, Toronto, ON, Canada; travel requirements up to 10%.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and release native iOS and Android features, reusable UI components, and shared modules.
• Follow and improve mobile architecture such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Integrate applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, backend services, and cloud platforms.
• Implement secure authentication, biometrics, secure storage, SSO, accessibility, and performance improvements.
• Develop unit and UI tests, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and support App Store and Google Play releases.
• Investigate crashes and production defects, tune performance, and collaborate with Product, Design, QA, web, and services teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on mobile application development, with a track record of shipping and supporting production apps on iOS, Android, or both.
• Hands-on native mobile experience is required: iOS with Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit and/or Android with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android SDK, with willingness to work across both platforms.
• Understanding of the mobile lifecycle, memory management, concurrency including Swift Concurrency or Kotlin Coroutines, and offline support.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, push notifications, deep linking, and local storage such as Core Data, Room, or SQLite.
• Familiarity with Swift Package Manager, Gradle, modular app structures, Git, CI/CD, code signing, and automated testing such as XCTest or Espresso.
• Experience with crash reporting and analytics tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.
• Awareness of mobile security, accessibility, and performance best practices.
• Comfort working in an Agile team with clear communication among teammates and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; curiosity and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flutter, React Native, or Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Experience implementing mobile SSO using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or Auth0.
• Exposure to Firebase, AWS Amplify, or Azure Mobile Apps.
• Apps published or supported on the App Store or Google Play.
