Security Operations Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote Australia; applicants elsewhere in Australia must work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Perth time (AWST), converted to their local time.

Compensation: AUD 110,000–140,000 base plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Triage, investigate, respond to, and remediate alerts generated by the hirify.global platform.
• Analyse EDR/SIEM telemetry, logs, and forensic artifacts to determine attack root cause and provide remediation.
• Track attackers through networks, perform dynamic malware analysis, and extract indicators of compromise.
• Craft and tune detection signals, improve queue hygiene, and contribute to detection capabilities against emerging threats.
• Investigate Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace activity and provide remediation advice for compromised tenants.
• Support customer and partner escalations while collaborating with Product and Engineering on MDR and Human Led Agentic workflows.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in SOC, Incident Response, Managed Detection and Response, or Digital Forensics roles.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one of Windows, Linux, or macOS, including attack surfaces, malware analysis, and basic threat actor tools and techniques.
• Understanding of system administration and how attackers abuse Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy, and local account creation.
• Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK tactics and techniques, including credential dumping, lateral movement, persistence, and exfiltration.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts including ports, protocols, NAT, public and private IP addresses, and VLANs.
• Interest in digital forensics and analysing logs, processes, and artifacts to understand intrusions.
• Clear written and verbal communication, the ability to simplify technical findings, and self-guided learning.
• Ability to use AI for security analysis while applying sound judgment and validating its output.
• Team-player mindset and willingness to work collaboratively in a supportive environment.
