Director, Consumer Payments Strategic Analytics (AI)

Location: US - Foster City, CA; hybrid schedule with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $219,100–$350,800 USD per year; the position may also include bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own the multi-year strategic analytics agenda for Global Consumer Payments and translate executive business questions into prioritized analytical portfolios.
• Identify market, product, customer, issuer, merchant, and portfolio opportunities through analysis of hirify.global data and the broader payments ecosystem.
• Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives from problem definition through implementation, coordinating contributors, milestones, resources, and technical decisions.
• Personally design and deliver predictive, descriptive, diagnostic, and prescriptive solutions, including segmentation, propensity modeling, forecasting, experimentation, and portfolio analysis.
• Shape the use of machine learning, generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI; build scalable dashboards, decision tools, self-service analytics, and data products with technology partners.
• Advise senior Product, Marketing, Finance, and Technology leaders, communicate executive-ready recommendations, and coach junior and early-career analytics and data science colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 8 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6 years with a PhD.
• Strong experience shaping analytics agendas, leading high-impact portfolios and cross-functional initiatives, and owning delivery quality and measurable business outcomes in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent hands-on programming and analytical skills in Python and SQL, with large-scale experience using Spark, Hive, Hadoop, or comparable platforms.
• Practical experience with AI and machine learning, including generative AI, LLMs, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar platforms.
• Experience with agentic AI concepts and orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable tools, including judgment about their business value.
• Ability to develop and validate predictive and descriptive models, conduct statistical analysis, data mining, experimentation, and decision science.
• Experience building visual insights, dashboards, and reporting solutions with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
• Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, influence, recommendation defense, and decision-driving skills.

• 12 or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 8 years with a PhD.
• 8+ years in analytics, data science, strategic insights, or related work with a Bachelor’s degree; 6+ years with a Master’s/MBA; or 5+ years with a PhD.
• Demonstrated success coaching and mentoring junior and early-career analytics or data science colleagues.
