Blockworld Media is a growing independent cryptocurrency news organization seeking experienced freelance crypto reporters to join its editorial team. The role involves discovering, researching, and reporting original news on cryptocurrency, blockchain, DeFi, Web3 and the broader digital-asset industry.

Responsibilities:

- Pitch and develop original crypto news stories that match editorial objectives.
- Research and report on crypto markets, blockchain technology, DeFi, Web3, and regulatory developments.
- Identify and secure interviews with founders, executives, investors, developers, traders, and industry experts.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with reliable industry sources.
- Conduct thorough research, interviews, fact-checking, and write compelling news articles, exclusives, and features.
- Collaborate with editors, fact-checkers, and multimedia teams and meet agreed deadlines.

Requirements:

- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Previous reporting experience (ideally including shorthand).
- Strong interviewing techniques and skills.
- Solid knowledge of the crypto space.
- Familiarity and confidence with SEO techniques and practices.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet editorial deadlines.
- Knowledge of media law and public affairs; strong communication skills for remote collaboration.

Nice to have:

- Previous reporting experience with established crypto, financial, or technology publications.
- An existing network of contacts within the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.
- Experience arranging exclusive interviews with founders, CEOs, and institutional investors.
- Demonstrated investigative journalism or original financial reporting experience.
- Familiarity with blockchain explorers, on-chain analytics tools, and crypto market data.
- Experience covering crypto regulation, exchange developments, DeFi protocols, and institutional adoption.
- Experience conducting remote video interviews or participating in podcasts.
