Associate Game Designer / Mathematician (iGaming)

Location: Silverwater, Australia; onsite with a 4:1 on-site working arrangement

What you will do

• Assist with concepts for new poker machine games aimed at player appeal and field performance.
• Design innovative mathematical models for base games, free games, and bonus features.
• Calculate payback percentages, hit frequencies, standard deviations, and other game metrics.
• Create programming tools to verify mathematical models and analyse gameplay characteristics.
• Prepare Excel spreadsheets for regulatory submission and review other designers’ calculations for correctness and compliance with company standards.
• Develop mathematical methods and work with regulatory agencies to resolve math-related compliance issues.

Requirements

• Proficiency in mathematics, especially probability and statistics.
• Proficiency in Excel, including linking and formulas for dynamically calculating probabilities and describing complex probabilistic events.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accuracy, curiosity, creativity, and personal integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex mathematical concepts to non-mathematical audiences.
• Ability to work with technical correspondence and in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree with a strong mathematical component focused on probability and statistics, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet applicable gaming or other licensing, background-screening, security, legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Ability to comply with workplace health and safety policies and practices.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the gaming industry.
• Intermediate programming skills in C++, C#, Python, Unity, or related languages.
