Senior Backend Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from Colombia; occasional visits to a hirify.global office may be required for team events or meetings.

What you will do

• Design and build intelligent lead scoring, routing, and assignment systems for sales teams.
• Implement AI/ML-powered features using LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval systems to provide contextual intelligence to sales representatives.
• Develop Salesforce solutions with Apex, Flows, Lightning Web Components, and integrations.
• Build Java and TypeScript backend services and APIs supporting sales tools and AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, Data Science, Product, and other business stakeholders.
• Own the software lifecycle from requirements gathering and solution design through development, release, monitoring, and continuous integration; establish engineering practices and mentor future hires.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building scalable backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript, including REST API design, data modeling, and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from planning through production.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, turn unclear requirements into actionable plans, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with SQL databases, data pipelines, and data-driven architectures.
• Experience with Salesforce development using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and integrations, or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn the platform quickly.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Product, and other business teams.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience building sales tools, CRM integrations, or revenue operations systems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and practical production experience using LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, or tool calling.
• Experience with lead scoring, sales analytics, or marketing automation platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Background in event-driven architecture or real-time data processing.
