Lead Data Steward (w/m/d) Substations

Location: Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany; hybrid remote/office

What you will do

• Coordinate data governance activities across business functions, countries, and enterprise data domains in line with governance standards.
• Maintain transparency on data ownership, data quality, risks, and governance priorities, including backlogs, decision logs, and escalation paths.
• Support data cataloging, metadata management, lineage documentation, and data quality initiatives in the SE Data Catalog.
• Collaborate with country Data Stewards to document critical data assets, gather business requirements, and build a connected global stewardship network.
• Facilitate pilot implementations, onboarding activities, governance reviews, and management reporting while promoting enterprise standards, platforms, and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
• Many years of professional experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Business Process Management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives across organizations and countries and translate business requirements into measurable governance improvements.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, and master data concepts.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills, with a structured, pragmatic, and execution-oriented approach in international environments.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to collaborate globally and travel occasionally.
