Head of Quality (Medical Manufacturing)

Location: Must be based in Durham or Asheville, North Carolina, with travel to the sister location one week per month.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Maintain the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with ISO and IATF standards.
• Drive product and process improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and quality tools.
• Partner with product development and operations to integrate quality standards across functions.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks, maintain regulatory and internal compliance, and resolve customer quality concerns.
• Monitor quality KPIs and performance metrics and provide recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering or Business preferred.
• 3+ years of quality experience, including hands-on technical quality and quality systems management.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills, confidence, urgency, and the ability to influence others.
• Must be based in Durham or Asheville, North Carolina and able to travel to the sister location one week per month.

Nice to have

• Experience in nonwovens, textiles, medical, pharmaceutical, or automotive manufacturing.
• IATF experience or certification.
• Lead Auditor qualification.
