Actuarial Associate - Entry Level (General Insurance)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid workplace. Start date: September 2027.

hirify.global's London General Insurance practice provides actuarial and insurance consulting services to insurance and reinsurance companies, Lloyd’s syndicates, ILS fund managers, public sector bodies, and other businesses.

What you will do

• Manage the technical aspects of client assignments, including running analytics tools and building models within agreed budgets and timeframes.
• Process, analyse, and interpret client data and assist with the production of client reports.
• Manage client relationships and expectations and attend client meetings as required.
• Apply risk management processes and document compliance for managed assignments.
• Support marketing activities, presentations, articles, and knowledge sharing with colleagues and clients.
• Maintain technical knowledge through research, seminars, and conferences while supporting other team members.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree at, or predicted to be, 2:1 or above in a numerical subject.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Keen interest in general insurance.
• Strong analytical skills and a highly technical approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and oral communication skills.
• Effective time management, research, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
• Driven, collaborative, motivated, proactive, flexible with workloads and priorities, and committed to an actuarial career and qualification as an actuary.

Nice to have

• Good knowledge of VBA, Python, R, SQL, or similar.
• Experience working with large datasets using statistical software.
• Good understanding of and interest in financial markets.
