Military Medical Planner (DoD)

Location: US - Huntsville, AL. Full-time role with approximately 30% travel on average and up to 50% travel during some periods. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to attain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Teledyne Brown Engineering develops medical modeling, simulation, and analysis tools, including the Joint Medical Planning Tool and Medical Planners’ Toolkit, for Department of Defense medical planning.

What you will do

• Provide subject matter expertise on Department of Defense medical planning, expeditionary health service support systems, patient movement, and combatant command operational plans.
• Support medical planners across the Department of Defense in using tools to develop medical and patient movement requirements estimates.
• Interface with senior medical leadership, military planners, customers, analysts, and software development teams.
• Conduct training sessions, demonstrations, briefings, and technical discussions at DoD medical planning forums.
• Translate medical planning workflows and operational needs into requirements, acceptance criteria, and tool improvements.
• Support studies, data development, software testing, UI/UX verification, technical documentation, and Verification, Validation, and Accreditation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience related to expeditionary medical systems, patient movement, operational planning, and medical planning.
• Experience with DoD medical planning processes and combatant command or component operational medical planning efforts.
• Deep experience in DoD medical planning, military expeditionary health service support systems, and patient movement.
• Ability to translate medical planner workflows and operational needs into clear requirements for medical planning tools.
• Ability to evaluate tool functionality and UI/UX workflows and verify that tools meet medical planner needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including training, demonstrations, briefings, and technical discussions with DoD audiences.
• Ability to support technical documentation, software testing, verification and validation, and user feedback activities.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to attain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• 2+ years of experience using modeling tools for analysis or planning.
• Military clinical expertise.
• Experience with TBE medical planning tools, including JMPT and MPTk.
• Experience supporting new model development, software modernization, or medical planning tool requirements development.
• Active TOP SECRET clearance.
