General Manager (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; onsite. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead the operational, financial, and strategic performance of a mixed-use portfolio comprising industrial, office, and retail assets.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary property management team, supporting collaboration, professional growth, and succession planning.
• Oversee operating and capital budgets, revenue, expenses, financial reporting, and initiatives that enhance long-term asset value.
• Act as the primary contact for Asset Managers and Owner Representatives on performance, operations, capital initiatives, staffing, and tenant relations.
• Ensure high standards for property operations, life safety, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Manage relationships with Leasing, Accounting, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders while supporting tenant retention, procurement, contract negotiations, sustainability, and ESG initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of progressive commercial real estate experience, including at least 5 years in a senior property management leadership role.
• Strategic leadership, innovation, and results delivery in a complex asset environment.
• University degree or diploma in business, commerce, or economics.
• Strong financial, organizational, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Valid real estate licence with RECA.
• Valid Alberta driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Strong relationship-building and client service skills, with excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, coaching, and team development abilities.
• Working knowledge of real estate law, lease structures, and commercial tenancy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; a professional, proactive, results-oriented, and detail-focused leadership mindset.

Nice to have

• Professional designations such as CPM, RPA, or LEED GA.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager.
