Data Governance Analyst (Databricks)

Location: Remote in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, or Canada

What you will do

• Maintain the enterprise business glossary by defining terms, resolving inconsistencies, and updating definitions as new domains join the Databricks Lakehouse platform.
• Ensure Bronze, Silver, and Gold data elements are defined in Unity Catalog and linked to the corresponding Business Glossary entries.
• Reconcile domain-specific terminology with the canonical knowledge catalog and add new terms where gaps exist.
• Review glossary-to-Unity-Catalog mappings and validate catalog and domain structures against the intended enterprise architecture.
• Run recurring feedback cycles with business stakeholders, obtain formal approval of definitions, and document decisions and open items.
• Support UAT for glossary-linked dashboards and Genie rooms by triaging content-level defects and routing them to technical owners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of the AWS cloud platform.
• Experience authoring and maintaining business-term definitions in a centralized glossary and linking them to Unity Catalog schemas, tables, and columns.
• Ability to reconcile conflicting or duplicate terminology across business domains and maintain a canonical knowledge catalog.
• Knowledge of data classification, retention, lineage, and access-policy concepts.
• Awareness of Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion architecture conventions and the data elements that require Unity Catalog-linked business terms.
• Ability to lead structured stakeholder discussions, secure formal sign-off, work independently, and collaborate with technical and business representatives in an international project team.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Exposure to Large Language Models, Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development tools.
