DevOps Engineer (Contractor)

Location: Hybrid, Belgrade Office or Novi Sad Office, Serbia

What you will do

• Provision, configure, and maintain production and staging environments on DigitalOcean using Ansible and Terraform.
• Manage and scale GitLab CI/CD runners and pipelines, and support reliable deployments through GitHub Actions.
• Prepare systems for security audits, including encryption at rest, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, TLS hardening, log redaction, and session security.
• Maintain and expand the LGTM observability stack with Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Alertmanager, and Cloudflare WAF metrics.
• Administer and optimize PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Redis clusters, including migrations, backups, and performance tuning.
• Secure cross-region networking with WireGuard and manage Cloudflare, NATS, and related edge services.

Requirements

• Proven experience with a cloud platform; DigitalOcean is preferred.
• Expert-level Ansible knowledge, including Ansible Vault and Ansible-core 2.24+, plus Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Deep experience with GitLab CI/CD, including runner concurrency and pipeline optimization, and with GitHub Actions.
• Strong PostgreSQL administration skills, including performance tuning and migrations, and experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with TLS/SSL hardening, Cloudflare WAF configuration, and secrets management.
• Proficiency with Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and Alertmanager.
• Advanced Linux administration skills; Ubuntu or Debian experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Domain industry experience, including EPP protocols and WHOIS/RDAP compliance.
• Familiarity with WordPress Cloud provisioning and Nginx edge web servers.
• Experience with NATS or other high-performance messaging systems.
• Knowledge of Go or Node.js for infrastructure tooling.
