Data Operations Analyst - Global Data Operations

Location: London, United Kingdom. London-hours operational role with early starts from approximately 7:00 AM London time; supports trading 24/5 across Houston, Tokyo, and London. Out-of-hours and weekend support are not required.

What you will do

• Investigate and remediate production alerts using incident-specific runbooks, owning issues through resolution or escalation.
• Author and improve repeatable runbooks for data-management workflows, reducing operational risk and increasing throughput.
• Mine large data sets to identify patterns, validate data, reveal trends, and support root-cause analysis.
• Apply acceptance and quality criteria to ensure the integrity of financial data sets.
• Collaborate with business partners, software engineers, data analysts, and data operations specialists to improve business processes.
• Recommend and improve data-management policies and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Comfort working behind the UI with the UNIX/Linux command line, SQL database queries, logs, file systems, schedulers, and storage.
• Exposure to scripting with Bash, Python, or a similar language, with judgment about when to use a script versus a runbook.
• Interest in daily, high-volume operations and following workflows accurately and consistently.
• Comfort switching between Linux and Windows, databases and file servers, user interfaces and command-line tools, and text and numerical data.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional verbal and written communication.
• BS in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience in a comparable operational or technical role.
• At least 1 year of experience is required.

Nice to have

• 1–5 years of experience.
• Professional experience in data operations, technical operations, data analysis, systems or support engineering, process engineering, systems administration, QA, defense analysis, logistics, maintenance technician work, or a similar structured operational discipline.
• Hands-on data-management and data-quality experience in data-intensive environments.
• A desire to grow knowledge of finance and trading.
