What you will do

• Lead day-to-day engineering and take ownership of delivery, team health, execution, and technical priorities.
• Build engineering practices covering code review, test coverage, deployment discipline, and clear ownership across core systems.
• Take direct technical ownership of live enterprise engagements and work closely with existing engineers.
• Own platform performance end to end and improve reliability and scalability.
• Prove data ingestion and data quality systems as a core business differentiator.
• Partner with product and commercial stakeholders on customer adoption and contribute to the longer-term platform and API vision.

Requirements

• Senior engineering leadership experience as a Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or in a similar role at an early-stage or growth B2B SaaS company.
• Hands-on experience writing or reviewing code directly.
• Experience bringing reliability, ownership, and process discipline to a maturing engineering organization.
• Ability to participate in technical conversations with investors and in due-diligence contexts without owning those relationships.
• Full-stack fluency, including React/TypeScript and Python or Node.js.
• Experience with relational and spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fluent English.
• Based in or willing to work hybrid from the Helsinki region.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of ML concepts and experience integrating AI capabilities into products.
• Experience with spatial or geospatial data, data pipelines, or similarly complex data domains.
• Hands-on experience with GCP or an equivalent cloud platform, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Familiarity with agentic AI interfaces such as MCP or similar technologies.
