Reliability Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Develop systems, services, tools, and libraries for reliability engineering.
• Improve software observability, operability, scalability, and availability.
• Build and maintain primarily Python-based automation software for maintainable and scalable systems.
• Apply rigorous change management and continuously improve tests and automated checks.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams on architecture, product design, reliability, performance, support issues, and tooling improvements.
• Operate and monitor a production-critical environment and participate in a support rotation for critical production and research data pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, equivalent, or higher in computer science or another highly technical or scientific discipline.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems, continuous development, and automation.
• Proficiency in one or more object-oriented scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Proven experience automating processes and applying algorithmic problem-solving.
• Some knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and low-latency applications on Linux.
• Experience with networking fundamentals.
• Experience working directly with counterparties to resolve issues in a trading environment.
• Experience with Python.
