2D Supervisor (VFX)

What you will do

• Define creative and technical compositing approaches with VFX and CG Supervisors, Heads of Department, Leads, and Production.
• Contribute to bidding and show planning by assessing compositing requirements, technical options, resources, and schedules.
• Set up 2D workflows and colour pipelines, establish compositing standards, and develop sequence template scripts and grades.
• Break down sequence and shot complexity, identify staffing needs, and monitor schedules, progress, risks, and delivery.
• Lead desk rounds and dailies, provide creative and technical direction, approve shots, and maintain visual continuity.
• Mentor artists, resolve complex compositing and pipeline challenges, support recruitment, and contribute to show wrap-up and post-mortem reviews.

Requirements

• Strong professional compositing experience and advanced working knowledge of Nuke, including troubleshooting complex scripts and workflows.
• Thorough understanding of the end-to-end VFX pipeline, colour workflows, and post-production environments.
• Proven leadership skills, including inspiring artists, delegating effectively, and developing talent at different experience levels.
• Excellent creative judgement, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to visual consistency and quality.
• Clear, confident communication and effective collaboration with Supervisors, Leads, Production, and artists.
• Strong organisational and planning skills for managing competing priorities and time-sensitive workloads.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues, improving tools, and optimising compositing workflows.
• Up-to-date knowledge of VFX tools, technologies, and emerging techniques.
