Sr. Staff Back-end Engineer (Growth Marketing)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineers while fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute short- and long-term architectural roadmaps for the offsite marketing team.
• Translate business and product requirements into architecture designs and execution roadmaps.
• Lead the architecture, development, and operationalization of a next-generation marketing platform.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, low latency, customer trust, and performance across data, platform, and service infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other stakeholders on cross-functional projects, including applying AI and emerging technologies to engineering productivity and software quality.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant technical leadership experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems at scale.
• Proven experience leveraging AI to improve engineering productivity or drive business impact.
• Experience translating business needs into technical architecture and execution plans.
• Experience leading the development of complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
• Proven ability to influence software engineering best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Business-level English in written and spoken communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with mar-tech platforms supporting offsite marketing, including display advertising, search advertising, or affiliate marketing.
• Experience with Spring, AWS, APIs, NoSQL, and big data technologies such as Kafka, Hive, Cassandra, Iceberg, Apache Flink, or Apache Spark.
• Strong technical leadership experience in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and agile environment.
• Ability to work backwards from the customer and deliver innovative, simple solutions.
