Senior AI & Digital Scientist

Location: Hybrid at hirify.global’s Dayuan Site, Taiwan.

What you will do

• Apply data science practices including data cleaning, regression, machine learning, and computer vision to engineering and business problems.
• Build databases, prepare data for analysis, develop and validate models, and create descriptive plots and reports.
• Work with equipment and production vendors and engineering teams to connect equipment data sources.
• Build reliable data ingestion pipelines that store equipment parameters and process signals in centralized databases for analytics and model deployment.
• Collaborate with data engineering, data science, and R&D teams to query data, deploy solutions, and improve data quality and usability.
• Communicate technical methods and results to non-experts, internal clients, and business partners.

Requirements

• MS degree or higher, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, or a related science and engineering field; alternatively, 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong Python coding skills, including data preparation, regression, plotting, and implementation of basic machine learning or supervised computer vision models such as clustering and classification.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and quality methods, including regression fundamentals, hypothesis testing basics, statistical process control, and quality checks.
• Working knowledge of SQL and basic NoSQL queries, such as MongoDB; experience designing and building databases and data schemas for centralized storage and reliable analytics, including data lakes or warehouses.
• Familiarity with acquiring equipment and process parameters from industrial systems such as OPC UA, PLC/SCADA tags, or vendor APIs, and landing the data in a database.
• Research experience applying data science to business, engineering, or scientific problems.
• Intellectual curiosity and self-learning ability to follow advances in the field, grow data science expertise, and improve understanding of internal business operations.
• Effective interpersonal skills for explaining technical concepts to non-experts, collaborating with team members, and presenting data analysis results to internal clients.
