Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Location: Melbourne, South Australia, Australia; hybrid working with up to 2 days per week from home

What you will do

• Develop and maintain ETL processes integrating data from multiple sources.
• Design and optimize data models for reporting and analytics.
• Support scalable BI and data solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines for reliability and performance.
• Partner with business users and IT teams to understand data requirements and priorities.
• Maintain data governance, security, architecture standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience building and supporting data solutions that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
• Strong SQL and ETL development skills.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with BI platforms such as Microsoft Fabric or Power BI.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Understanding of data governance and security principles.
• Collaborative problem-solving skills, stakeholder focus, ownership of outcomes, and commitment to high-quality data solutions.
• Proof of legal work rights and successful completion of relevant pre-employment screening are required.

Nice to have

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
