Cyber Defence Officer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Execute continuous security monitoring, triage, and in-depth analysis of security events while supporting 24/7 operational coverage through on-call and on-duty rotas.
• Perform L1 and L2 incident response from detection through containment, eradication, and recovery, including documentation, case management, and remediation follow-up.
• Identify and assess cyber threats and vulnerabilities, conduct proactive threat hunting for IOCs and TTPs, and analyse intelligence from internal and external sources.
• Support controlled attack simulations, cyber investigations, forensic analysis, automated attack testing, and detection development.
• Support projects, audits, evidence collection, remediation tracking, and collaboration with global, regional, and local stakeholders.
• Communicate cyber risk insights, control requirements, and key issues to senior management and other stakeholders while maintaining ethical and compliant conduct.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven L1 and L2 security operations, threat analysis, and incident response experience within banking or financial services, preferably wealth management.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity operations with hands-on experience using SIEM and SOAR platforms, GUI development, and dashboarding.
• Strong programming and scripting skills, such as Python, for automating and customising security workflows.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical, quantitative modelling, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility, perform under pressure during active incident response, and deliver within tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI.
• Professional information security certification such as CISSP or CISM.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
