Vice President R&D, Chemistries & Supplies Division (Chromatography)

Location: Little Falls, Delaware, United States; onsite. Global travel required, approximately 25% of the time.

Full-time equivalent pay range: $280,000–$437,500 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the global R&D organization supporting chromatography columns, sample preparation, and instrument supplies.
• Establish multi-year innovation strategies, technology roadmaps, and differentiated R&D priorities.
• Own the quality, execution, health, and value of the new-product-development pipeline across breakthrough innovation, platforms, and product extensions.
• Integrate research, product development, manufacturing science, applications, quality, and commercialization.
• Assess market attractiveness, technical feasibility, investment requirements, risk, competitive differentiation, and expected financial return.
• Build scientific capabilities, leadership capacity, external networks, talent pipelines, and mechanisms for measuring innovation effectiveness.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, technology and/or product development, or a closely related function.
• Experience managing a portfolio spanning research, new product development, platform development, lifecycle programs, and technology-risk reduction.
• Significant leadership experience in separation science, chromatography consumables, analytical technologies, life-science tools, advanced materials, or a closely related field.
• Success leading a sizable, global, multidisciplinary R&D organization through other senior leaders and implementing a strong talent development program.
• A proven record of developing and commercializing differentiated products or technology platforms that delivered measurable customer and business value.
• Ability to make resource and investment tradeoffs across projects with different time horizons, risk profiles, and commercial potential.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence senior leaders, technical experts, customers, and external partners.
• Ability and willingness to travel globally as required.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, polymer science, biochemistry, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
