Senior Information Security Analyst (Cybersecurity)

Location: Ottawa, Canada — on-site

Salary: CAD 70,000–102,000 per year, flexible; final compensation depends on experience, skills, and qualifications. Additional total rewards may include an annual bonus, equity, and health and welfare benefits.

What you will do

• Lead investigations and response to complex cyber security incidents across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, email, and application environments.
• Improve Security Operations through stronger detections, playbooks, automation, and operational processes.
• Own and enhance DLP and MFA controls, ensuring effectiveness, measurability, and alignment with business needs.
• Assess vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation, and work with technology teams to reduce cyber risk.
• Provide security assurance for new projects and technology changes, produce security metrics and reporting, and support security by design.
• Coach colleagues, develop security capability, and translate complex technical issues into practical recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Significant experience in cyber security, information security, or security operations.
• Experience in Security Operations, Security Incident Response, or Security Engineering.
• Experience with SIEM and EDR technologies.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management, including MFA, Conditional Access, and Privileged Access.
• Experience with DLP technologies and policy management.
• Experience in Vulnerability Management, security hardening, security architecture reviews, and technical assurance.
• Experience with threat detection, investigation, root cause analysis, and security automation, scripting, or workflow improvement.
• Working knowledge of recognized security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
• Ability to lead investigations, solve complex technical challenges, influence stakeholders at all levels, think strategically while remaining hands-on, take ownership, drive continuous improvement, build relationships, and develop others.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA, although equivalent experience is acceptable.
