Compliance Specialist - KYB (Onboarding) (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in the Berlin or Luxembourg office; candidates must already reside in the EU or hold a valid EU work permit.

What you will do

• Support onboarding of business clients independently for standard cases or with senior colleagues.
• Conduct initial and ongoing customer due diligence throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Review and verify KYB documentation against internal guidelines and regulatory obligations.
• Escalate issues and red flags to supervisors and maintain accurate records in internal systems.
• Collaborate with Customer Support, Legal, and Finance to support smooth onboarding.
• Contribute to projects improving onboarding procedures and team efficiency.

Requirements

• Prior experience in onboarding, KYB, AML, or a similar compliance-related function, ideally 3–5 years.
• Experience within an EMI or Payment Institution is preferred within the stated background.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent command of English.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn from feedback and training.
• Already residing in the EU or holding a valid EU work permit.
