Focus on integrating control actuation and propulsion systems, performing environmental qualification testing, and supporting flight-test hardware through root-cause failure analysis.
Location: Huntsville, AL, United States of America; onsite role supporting remote proving grounds and flight test ranges.
Company
hirify.global is a rapidly growing employee-owned company developing advanced missile and aerospace hardware.
What you will do
Lead mechanical architecture and 3D CAD modeling for missile airframes, seekers, body tubes, fins, canards, and internal mounting structures.
Perform structural, modal, thermal, and aerothermal FEA to verify integrity, thermal margins, and dynamic response under supersonic and hypersonic flight loads.
Manage mass properties and aerodynamic stability in collaboration with the GNC team.
Integrate control actuation systems, propulsion units, avionics, IMUs, power electronics, and thermal batteries, including mechanical interfaces, enclosures, mounting chassis, and vibration isolation.
Select aerospace materials and apply DFMA principles with machine shops, composite fabricators, and additive manufacturing vendors.
Author and lead environmental qualification tests, support flight-test operations, and participate in failure review boards and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience, or an M.S. with 3+ years, in missile, rocket, or high-performance aerospace structures.
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using Siemens NX, CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE, or SolidWorks.
Strong hands-on expertise with ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus, or FEMAP for structural, thermal, and dynamic stress analysis.
Deep understanding of high-speed aerodynamics, thermal protection systems, aero-heating load prediction, and structural dynamics including vibration and shock.
In-depth knowledge of aerospace materials including titanium, carbon composites, high-temperature alloys, and ablatives, as well as precision manufacturing processes.
Active US DoD Secret security clearance.
Culture & Benefits
Employee-owned company structure.
Equal opportunity employment environment.
Work includes deployment to remote proving grounds and flight test ranges for hardware assembly, launcher integration, pre-flight checks, and post-flight inspection.
