TL;DR
Data Analyst (AI) (Databricks/dbt/Metabase): Building analytics, reports, dashboards, self-service tools, and data products for municipalities and internal product teams with an accent on metric definition, data modeling, and stakeholder enablement. Focus on designing analytics from a blank-slate platform, applying AI and automation, and turning operational questions into decision-making products.
Location: Hybrid in Bergen, Bodø, or Oslo, Norway.
Salary: NOK 800,000–1,000,000 per year.
Company
A startup building technology and analytics for Norway’s municipal healthcare sector and next-generation welfare services.
What you will do
Build and maintain reports, dashboards, self-service tools, data exports, and conversational analytics capabilities used by municipalities and internal teams.
Define metrics and balanced quality and performance indicators for municipalities and internal operations.
Work directly with municipal leaders, staff, product teams, and non-technical stakeholders to translate operational and strategic questions into data products and drive adoption.
Develop data literacy capabilities and training so users can understand and create value from analytics independently.
Set standards for building data products, improve the developer experience with AI, and support distributed data ownership across product teams.
Contribute to the shared data platform, tooling adoption, governance, and developer experience, providing hands-on support to product teams when needed.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in a data analyst role or similar.
Strong analytical thinking, including the ability to turn vague questions into answers that influence decisions and to work with data in a structured, creative, and pragmatic way.
Advanced, independent SQL skills and experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake and related tooling such as dbt.
Ability to bring in and model new data sources and to run sessions with non-technical stakeholders to help them use and understand data.
Active use of AI in analytics work and curiosity about AI, automation, and new ways of improving the quality, speed, and impact of data delivery.
Excellent communication skills and experience translating the needs, questions, and problems of non-technical users into data products.
Experience in a product organisation and cross-functional teams where data products are built, shipped, and continuously improved.
Experience building data products used for decision-making and improving them over time, with a delivery-oriented, pragmatic, independent, and ownership-driven approach in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Fluent Norwegian at C1 level for collaboration and testing with municipal users, plus professional English for internal collaboration.
Nice to have
Experience with dbt or a similar transformation tool.
Experience with a self-service reporting tool, Python, or Amplitude.
Background in healthtech, the public sector, or another regulated data environment.
Culture & Benefits
High trust, real ownership, and freedom to explore challenging problems.
Direct impact on healthcare professionals and municipalities across Norway.
Newly established team with no legacy and the opportunity to build data and analytics experiences from the ground up.
AI is used as a core tool, including agentic tools, workflow automation, and responsible AI practices.
Flexible working hours and location, six weeks of vacation, health and wellness benefits, employee shares, pension, insurance, and full pay during parental leave.
Collaborative, ambitious, caring, and inclusive work environment.
