What you will do

• Build and ship internal AI services end to end, from data pipelines and models to APIs used by other teams.
• Develop asynchronous REST APIs and microservices with FastAPI and Kubernetes for model serving and agent tool orchestration.
• Implement PostgreSQL and pgvector retrieval pipelines, including chunking, embeddings, indexing, retrieval tuning, and evaluation.
• Build training pipelines for data preparation, fine-tuning, evaluation, model registration, and production promotion.
• Integrate agent tools and Model Context Protocol endpoints with tool-level access controls, structured logging, metrics, tracing, evaluation checks, and drift monitoring.
• Review junior engineers' and trainees' work, pair with them on delivery, and contribute to engineering and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of backend software development experience, including hands-on delivery of at least one machine learning or LLM application into production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with solid working knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Practical experience with retrieval-augmented generation, prompt design, structured outputs, and evaluation of model quality.
• Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of a major cloud platform, ideally AWS.
• Methodical approach to correctness, including testing, measuring changes before and after implementation, and explaining improvement results.
• Strong communication skills and full professional proficiency in English.
• Collaborative approach, including learning from senior colleagues and supporting less experienced colleagues.
• Applicants must be eligible or have legal authorization to work in Greece.

Nice to have

• Production experience with vector search using pgvector, OpenSearch, Qdrant, or similar tools.
• Exposure to multi-agent frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or LlamaIndex, or to the Model Context Protocol.
• Experience with model registries and deployment workflows such as MLflow, or with serving open-weight models such as vLLM.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Langfuse.
• Familiarity with FinTech platforms, FX trading, or financial services operations.
