What you will do

• Manage and support client accounts, including clients in energy, sustainability, and regulated industries.
• Develop and deliver communications strategies covering campaign planning, corporate reputation, stakeholder engagement, and issues management.
• Create strategy documents, messaging frameworks, briefing notes, reactive lines, sustainability narratives, and stakeholder communications.
• Shape client conversations through media, online channels, think tanks, influencers, and partnerships.
• Monitor and interpret media, policy, and regulatory developments across energy transition, net zero, and sustainability, helping shape client responses.
• Build media relationships, contribute to new business pitches, develop networks, and mentor junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Approximately 5–9 years of experience at Associate Director or Director level.
• Solid experience in corporate communications or an S&R consultancy environment, including confidence managing accounts and client relationships.
• Strong generalist communications skills across corporate narrative, issues management, stakeholder engagement, and campaign strategy.
• Experience with energy, climate, or sustainability-related communications briefs in an agency, in-house, or campaign environment.
• Experience developing and delivering communications campaigns across multiple channels and stakeholder groups.
• Strong, clear, precise, and adaptable writing skills for different formats and audiences, including technical or policy-heavy subjects.
• Ability to get up to speed quickly, work independently, and integrate into an established team.
• Proactive media approach with developing relationships across energy, environment, and business beats, and an instinct for creating opportunities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with policy and regulatory issues related to net zero, the energy transition, or environmental reporting.
• Experience supporting business development activity within a team.
• Curiosity about energy, sustainability, and the policy environment surrounding the energy transition, with comfort engaging with complex, multi-stakeholder briefs.
