Analyst - Weekend - English & German Speaking

Location: Remote - Bulgaria. Candidates must already be based in Bulgaria. Weekend shifts run from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm Bulgarian time on Saturdays and Sundays; the remaining 4 weekly hours are scheduled during weekdays by agreement.

What you will do

• Monitor national and international print, online, radio, TV, and social media sources for breaking news, emerging trends, and significant political, economic, and social developments.
• Assess news for timeliness, relevance, significance, accuracy, and suitability for different audiences.
• Verify information and distinguish critical events from less relevant developments.
• Produce clear, accurate, professional Real-Time Alerts that summarise complex issues as events unfold.
• Collaborate with international colleagues and internal stakeholders to support reliable monitoring services.
• Contribute to improving editorial processes and the quality of information products.

Requirements

• English at least C1 and German at least B2.
• A degree in media, communications, political science, social sciences, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
• Interest in current political, economic, and social developments and a good understanding of international news.
• Ability to understand complex information quickly, assess relevance, and summarise information clearly.
• Strong analytical skills, including recognising connections and critically evaluating information.
• Careful and independent approach to work, with the ability to stay organised during intense news activity.
• Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a sense of responsibility.
• Openness to new technologies and ability to learn digital research and media monitoring tools quickly.
