Portal Developer (Python, Web APIs, JavaScript, CSS)

Location: Leuven, Belgium; hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Applications are welcomed from suitable candidates living in Belgium.

Essensium is a product company that designs, produces, sells, and services the Essensium Positioning System, a real-time forklift positioning system based on computer vision and AI.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the EPS Portal dashboard for customers and internal engineers.
• Build dashboards using real-time positioning data.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for customer installations.
• Develop integrations with customer systems.
• Build secure and efficient data pipelines, including data storage, processing, encryption, and portal security.
• Take ownership of features from design through production and understand the existing system end to end.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-stack development experience.
• Experience with Python and asyncio.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Vue 3 or another modern component framework.
• Knowledge of HTTP(S), WebSockets, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Linux and Git.
• Fluent English.
• Product-minded approach and focus on user needs.
• Autonomous, systematic working style with ownership of features from design through production.
• Clear communication with colleagues, field engineers, and customers when needed; curiosity and willingness to understand an existing codebase.

Nice to have

• Experience with NumPy or pandas, statistics, and time-series data.
• Knowledge of networking and TLS.
• Linux server administration experience.
• Web security experience.
• Data visualization experience.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• A degree in computer science.
• Dutch or French.
