Risk and Control Analyst

Location: Based in Central London, with travel to the office required 2–3 days per week.

What you will do

• Support the implementation, deployment, training, communication, and embedding of the hirify.global Control Framework across the UK&I division.
• Assess internal control maturity, perform walkthroughs, testing, self-assessments, and reperformance, and identify control gaps.
• Prioritise remediation, develop proportionate improvement actions, and follow open actions through to completion.
• Support control owners and management through business partnering, facilitation, training, and constructive challenge.
• Prepare risk and controls reporting packs, control weakness reports, impact analyses, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Support the adoption of data and digital tools for real-time risk visibility, control automation, process simplification, and predictive analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related subject is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in internal controls, internal or external assurance, preferably in complex or project-driven environments.
• Experience in a similar role in a complex or project-driven environment, ideally including both in-house functions and practice.
• Sound technical understanding of financial processes, risk management, and control environments, preferably in organisations compliant with Corporate Governance Codes such as Provision 29 and SOx.
• Proven experience with internal control frameworks, control design, implementation, testing, and reperformance across financial and non-financial controls.
• Experience with change management, process development, training, and process enhancement.
• Comfort with data handling, analytics, dashboards, digital tools, and process automation, including tools such as Power BI, SAP, S4HANA, and risk and control systems.
• Familiarity with governance rhythms and reviewing and following up on audit or remediation actions.
• Ability to propose best-practice solutions, address control gaps, work with complex data, identify trends, and quantify impacts.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including credibility with cross-functional management, facilitation of risk and control discussions, and translation of complex evidence into clear narratives and actions.
• Ability to guide management teams without formal authority, prioritise workloads, and work effectively on both planned and ad hoc assignments.

Nice to have

• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Big Four experience in business assurance and consulting.
