Head of Finance (Traveltech)

Location: Hybrid (Milan), Italy. Flexible working is supported, including working from a destination of choice for up to 1 month per year.

Salary: €75,000–€85,000 gross per year.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a Finance team of approximately 10 people across Accounting, Tax, and Treasury.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing and ensure accurate, timely financial statements across all hirify.global entities.
• Supervise direct and indirect tax compliance and planning, including travel-specific VAT regimes, with tax managers and external advisors.
• Manage treasury, liquidity planning, banking relationships, multi-currency payments, cash flow, and working capital optimization.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, planning, and forecasting, and provide data and insights for business decisions.
• Improve and automate Finance processes, strengthen internal controls, scale systems, and support auditors, tax advisors, banks, the Board, and investors.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of senior finance management experience, ideally in a fast-growing, multi-entity, international environment.
• Strong background in accounting, tax, and treasury, with a strong command of Italian GAAP.
• Proven experience in budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
• Experience leading and developing teams of around 10 people with a hands-on, results-oriented leadership style.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to translate numbers into clear business insights.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Hands-on experience using automation and AI tools to streamline finance processes, including reconciliations, reporting, or forecasting, and willingness to lead team adoption.
• Fluent English and Italian.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central.
