Data Systems Engineer (Smart Metering)

Smart metering operations use data-processing tools, operational applications, business intelligence systems, and on-premise infrastructure.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve Python-based data-processing and ETL pipelines, including data cleaning, transformation, validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Develop Python automation scripts, SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-processing routines to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain Python-based web applications and internal tools, investigate errors, implement fixes, and develop features based on operational requirements.
• Support Power BI dashboards, datasets, data refresh processes, documentation, and reliable operational reporting.
• Participate in deployment and operation of the on-premise Smart Meter Management System, including monitoring services, logs, servers, backups, recovery, gateways, and smart metering equipment.
• Provide first-level technical support, incident investigation, user guidance, basic training, and coordination with IT teams, vendors, and other technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a technical role involving data, software development, automation, IT systems, or a related field.
• Good knowledge of Python.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Basic understanding of ETL and data-processing concepts, web applications, APIs, server administration, operating systems, networking, and application and system logs.
• Fluency in Russian, English, and Uzbek.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and investigate incidents analytically and methodically.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues, work with operational teams, and translate operational problems into technical solutions.
• Proactive approach to automation and improvement, ability to learn new platforms quickly, document processes and technical solutions, and follow issues through to resolution.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI or another BI platform.
• Experience with Git or version control.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server.
• Experience in smart metering or utility operations, AMR/AMI systems, IoT platforms, Linux administration, or on-premise application deployment.
• French language skills.
