Junior Trader

Location: Not specified; hirify.global is headquartered in Chicago and has offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Operate automated, latency-sensitive trading systems across multiple asset classes.
• Conduct quantitative research, back-test hypotheses, and refine trading strategies.
• Adjust system parameters dynamically based on market conditions and manually trade when necessary to reduce risk exposure.
• Identify automation opportunities and propose improvements to trading systems and operational workflows.
• Develop internal tools and utilities for monitoring, operational efficiency, and desk processes.
• Communicate market news, events, system behaviour, and performance feedback based on logs, executions, and market data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Finance, or an equivalent STEM field.
• Ability to understand and reason about complex distributed trading systems.
• Strong analytical and quantitative mindset.
• Proficiency in Python or C++.
• Meticulous attention to detail, strong judgement, and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across research and engineering teams.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative, results-oriented environment and perform under time-sensitive, high-pressure conditions.
• Self-starter with strong proactivity, ambitious goals, willingness to own projects, and the ability to identify opportunities for impact.
