Compiler Engineer (C++)

Location: On-site in PRC, Shanghai, China.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain compiler technologies and software components.
• Implement new compiler features and resolve software defects.
• Analyze real-world applications, workloads, and benchmarks to identify optimization opportunities.
• Improve the performance and efficiency of compiler-generated code for hirify.global CPU architectures.
• Conduct functional, performance, scalability, and stress testing.
• Collaborate with hardware architects, platform teams, global engineering teams, validation teams, and performance teams; contribute to open-source compiler initiatives and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience and advanced knowledge of C/C++.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience optimizing software for CPU performance and efficiency.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in global engineering environments.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with vectorization technologies and parallel programming models such as OpenMP.
• Experience with compiler development using LLVM or similar compiler frameworks.
• Knowledge of assemblers, linkers, and low-level system software.
• Strong understanding of compiler optimizations, code generation, and CPU architecture.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and analysis tools such as perf or equivalent solutions.
